Why Plan a Weekend Wedding?

Weekend weddings are becoming more & more popular. The phrase wedding weekend simply refers to the days before and after your actual ceremony and all the events that you fit into those days. To celebrate a wedding over three days, offers more time for festivities, including a pre-wedding party, the main ceremony, wedding breakfast and post-wedding brunch. Why not make the most out of your wed-cation and celebrate with family and friends.

Not all wedding venues offer full weekend hire, but here at Talhenbont Hall we offer you the whole Estate for the weekend with no extra venue costs. The only additional cost will be for accommodation for the night before. The cottages for guests are dotted about the Estate, we can accommodate up to 42 people onsite. We offer check-in at 3pm, the day before your wedding with plenty of time to settle in. On the Sunday check-out is at 3pm, why not make the most of your time at Talhenbont Hall and have a post wedding brunch? A beautiful way to recap your favorite memories of the big day, with close family & friends.

To help you navigate the ins and outs of your three-day wedding weekend, here’s a look at what each event typically entails, and what you need to know.

Planning your wedding weekend consider including a welcoming gathering. Kick off the weekend with a warm welcome from your guests. A welcome party is traditionally the kick-off event to the wedding weekend. It’s held on the first evening of the wedding weekend, usually a Friday. It’s customary to invite your entire guest list to your welcome party! It serves as an opportunity for the couple and their respective families to welcome their guests who’ve come from near and far. Our outdoor Coach House terrace is yours to use the night before the wedding, enjoy a glass of bubbles whilst lounging on our comfortable sofas. The bar will be open from 3pm onwards on the day of your arrival. This is a wonderful way for all your guests to meet each other.

On the second day will be the main event! Your ceremony and reception, followed by a 2 or 3 course wedding breakfast. The ceremony is more formal and when the couple says “I do.” Once the ceremony has commenced, the reception begins!

A wedding after-party is a post wedding breakfast event that continues the celebrations. This will be when your desired band or DJ will be performing. Most wedding after-parties involve drinking and late-night snacking, which comes in clutch for hungry guests.

End the weekend on a delightful note with a farewell breakfast. There’s nothing better than a brunch with coffee and pastries to end the wonderful wed-cation. Thers no rush to exit the premises, hence the late checkout. We want your weekend to be as stress free as possible.

Your wedding day goes by so very quickly so to be able to extend your wedding celebrations is a fabulous way to extend the celebration of your nuptials.
